Diet Water Exercise : Keys to a Successful Workout

This article is named Diet Water Exercise for a very important reason...

Diet, water, and exercise are the building blocks to a healthy body.

You might be asking, "Why is Water included in Diet Water Exercise?"

Well it is simple. You need to have a healthy diet. Water is part of the Water Diet Exercise building block.

You see... many people overlook how effective water is in our lives. It is needed for almost every basic function our body does. We need to drink a lot of water daily, especially when working out.

Diet Water Exercise are building blocks for a healthy lifestyle

What Exactly Does Water Do?

Water provides the liquid source to move fluids in and out of your body. It also acts as a carrier for your blood to deliver nutrients throughout the body.

Water can also curb your appetite resulting in losing body fat.

Many nutritionists will recommend drinking plenty of water throughout the day. This is especially true when people try to lose weight. Sometimes our body craves water and we misinterpret it as being hungry.

Chances are that you aren't getting enough water in your diet which leads to my next question...

How Much Water Should I Drink?

There is a very simple formula I use. You divide your weight by 2 and that is how many ounces of water you need.

For example a 140 pound woman would need 70 ounces of water daily. While a 200 pound man would need 100 ounces of water daily.

What Other Beverages Should I and Shouldn't I Drink?

Do not substitute coffee, soda, and other beverages for water just because it has water in them. These sugary and caffeinated beverages can actually dehydrate you rather than quench your thirst. Try to avoid coffee, soda, and sports drinks.

Instead drink real fruit juices and water. I say real because you don't want to drink stuff like Hawaiian Punch or even Capri Sun. Look at the label, if it has high fructose corn syrup in the ingredients don't get it.

Some companies love to put sugar and water together and add a tiny bit of fruit juice and claim its all natural fruit juice. Some companies I can name right off my head that provide natural fruit juice are:

* Welch’s
* Juicy Juice
* Tropicana
* Florida's Natural
* Simple Orange
* Motts

There are many others out there too. Remember just look for the labels.

For all you coffee lovers thinking I’m crazy for telling you to ditch coffee. You should try orange juice instead. It helps wake you up without the caffeine and is good for you.

Don't even substitute fruit juice for your daily intake of water. Drink the recommended amount for your weight strictly as normal water.

I personally got in the habit to drink fruit juice and water only. Before this I drank soda a lot. If I can do it, you are more than capable of doing it. :)

You can also drink milk too in your diet just be sure in moderation as it has a lot of saturated fat.

Side Effects of Dehydration

Many people get dehydrated and don't even know it.

Did you know that if a headache arises out of nowhere there is a very good chance that it is because your body is telling you it needs more water?

That is true and if you get frequent mild headaches you might want to consider drinking more water.

Another common symptom of dehydration is the feeling of hunger. Many people mistake this for being hungry and their bodies are actually really thirsty.

The Water in Diet Water Exercise

To have a successful diet, water must be included. You can see now that is true and how important water is. So follow the Diet Water Exercise building blocks.

It is especially important to make sure you drink enough water when taking supplements, especially creatine and when you work out. You need to take more than the usual amount of water if working out and/or taking creatine.

If we couldn't survive a few days without water obviously it is very important. You will notice you feel more "healthy" when properly hydrated.

That is why diet water and exercise are crucial to building a healthy body.

A Diet is Not What You May Think

When people think of a diet they think of losing weight. While many of today’s most popular diets have this goal in mind, it is not only limited to this reason.

When I first started working out I mentioned to people I was on a diet. I always had the response, "Why are you going on a diet? You're not fat." (I was at the time 6'1" and weighed 160 pounds)

I got that all the time. I was in fact, doing the total opposite, I wanted to go on a diet to put on weight.

Well, obviously someone who wants to put on weight is going to eat differently than someone trying to lose weight. So I decided that I would dedicate this section to provide information about many different diets and their pros and cons.

If you stick to your diet plan and continue to develop the skills needed to properly manage your diet, then you will have picked up on healthy eating habits that make things a lot easier.

Why Not Just Pop A Pill Instead?

Nowadays I’m sure you’ve seen commercials stating the best way to lose weight is to buy a product that promises you’ll get rid of X amount of pounds a week. Now trust me, out of all the best ways to lose weight, this is not one of them. What companies that make these products don’t tell you is, that they use ingredients that mess up your body’s natural metabolic balance.

By taking these products you may notice you do in fact lose weight, however if you decide to stop taking them you will gain the weight back. Also, not to mention there are serious side effects to taking some of these products. In fact, recently the FDA ordered the recall of all Hydroxycut products because people have reported liver damage upon taking these and some people have even died because of these products.

Notice how all these new trends of products come and go? Why is it that diet and exercise has yet to be replaced by some of these products? If you think about it, if there truly was a pill out there that could get rid of weight without any side effects and was equivalent to diet and exercise then you would see a lot less people at your local gym. This hasn’t happened yet and will never will. Why? It is simply because diet and exercise is the only way to get rid of weight and keep it off naturally.

The Truth About Abs : Ab Workouts

Looking for the right ab workouts to get that flat stomach or those 6 pack abs? Am I right? Did you know there are well over 100 abdominal exercises you can do?

Before you dive into all this information there are a few misconceptions nearly all people fail to realize that you should know about first.

Truth About Abs

"Why is it that people who never do exercises for their abs seem to get 6 pack abs? I always work on my abs and no matter what I can't seem to get the ripped abs I want."

I hear this a lot and unfortunately people waste a lot of time, effort, and hard work trying to get more defined abs. Truth is, you don't have to do any ab workouts to get defined abs and burn all that belly fat.

There is one word that you should know in order to get those defined abs. It is "Cardio."

This is the key to getting defined abs. Why? Well its very simple. Ab workouts will not burn the fat off your stomach region. Cardio does this and cardio is the key to getting your 6 pack abs.

So Why Bother With Ab Workouts Then?

Ab workouts have a very important purpose. They strengthen our core muscles. In case you didn't know our abdominal muscles are our core muscles. These muscles are very important. They are used in almost every exercise or activity we do. We need them for everything we do. When we exercise we almost always workout our core muscles each time. This is why it is crucial to strengthen them out so they can withstand the amount of exercise we put them through each workout.

Another great reason to workout these muscles is to get them ripped. Listen, we all have a 6 pack. We just need to burn that layer of fat almost completely for it to show. Ever see someone with a very small 6 pack? Well, they don't do ab exercises to strengthen a grow those muscles. If you strengthen them in combination with cardio you provide a perfect balance of making them fit well in your stomach region and giving you the perfect size 6 pack that fits your body.

To explain this better I'll use an example...

Joe does an intense cardio workout throughout the week. Joe also weight lifts for an hour, 5 times a week. He also has a strict diet plan for each day he follows. He does not do any abdominal exercises. Joe is 5'11" and weighs 180 lbs. Going by this Joe has developed a nice buff body with a 6 pack. However Joe may find his 6 pack looks a little small. It doesn't look right on him. He may also notice that his posture is a little crooked and he frequently has more injuries(pulled muscle) than the average person when weight lifting.

If Joe incorporated some simple ab exercises he would notice his posture improve, he would have injuries less frequently, he would also notice feeling less fatigued in his workout and his 6 pack would be more ripped and fit his body size well.

See the difference? This is why ab exercises are so important.

Finding the Right Creatine Supplement

Taking a Creatine Supplement is useful for people who want to build muscle mass fast. It is used by a lot of sports athletes and bodybuilders. It is one of the fastest growing supplements.

Many bodybuilders in the gym like to use a creatine supplement with a protein supplement. They are good to build muscle mass fast if you’re consistent in taking it and working out.

Remember to read the instructions on how to use it because you are supposed to take a break after a certain timeframe of using it. This is to prevent your body from being immune to its effects.

The Different Methods of Taking a Creatine Supplement

There are two main ways you can take a creatine supplement. Heres a breakdown of the creatine comparison.

One way is to take a creatine powder. It usually comes in fruit flavors. Another way is to take creatine supplements in pill form.

I recommend if you take creatine you go for creatine powder rather than pills for several reasons.

1. You need to "load up" on creatine when you first take it. It is much easier to "load up" on creatine in powder form than taking several pills.

(Loading up means to take high volumes of it first for it to take effect)

2. Its more cost effective. You get much more creatine in powder form than you do in pills for the money.

3. Creatine powder is much more convenient. You may think pills are more convenient but you have to take several at once, many times a day. For creatine powder you just take a couple scoops usually one time a day unless your loading.

Why are Creatine Products Used by So Many Body Builders?

Well, if more nutrients our delivered to our muscles, we can then do more repetitions and then we can ultimately build more muscle mass. Because you’re able to work your body harder you can build more muscle. That is why creatine is used.

Sidenote:

In the articles below you will find information on how to use creatine, when to use creatine, if you should take a creatine supplement, the benefits and dangers of creatine, best creatine supplement for you, information of specific creatine supplements, and much more.

I highly recommend you read some of the articles below if you are seriously considering to use creatine as a workout supplement. These articles, along with the information of specific creatine products above will ensure you pick the best creatine for your needs.

Should I Take Creatine?

Many people are looking for an edge in building muscle and stumble across the question... Should I take creatine?

Well if you are a healthy individual with no health problems and want to get bulked up then the answer is usually yes.

Why Not Always?

Well creatine’s effects may not be for everyone. When asking, “Should I take creatine?” you need to realize what creatine does. I have several separate articles that go into detail about this, however the plain and simple fact is that creatine won’t make you stronger.

Well if it must bulk you up then it must make you stronger…right? Wrong. It bulks up your muscles and makes you look stronger but it is actually just water weight. My other articles go more in depth about this if you want to read up more on it.

Many people work out to bulk up first and strength second. They want to get that image of bulky muscular body that many women desire. They want that sex appeal. If you want that then creatine will help you attain that goal faster. However, you should read up on the creatine side effects before taking your first creatine supplement.

If however you workout just to stay in shape and get stronger and don’t care so much about your image as much as the type of person in the paragraph above then you may find creatine’s benefits a little lacking for what you want and may not be a worthwhile investment.

So when it comes down to, “Should I take creatine?” Just ask yourself this question, “Which comes first in my goals, strength or image?” If strength comes first then it may not be a worthwhile investment. If image comes first then you should definitely consider looking at my individual creatine supplement product information on the previous page and pick one of those to start taking.

Just remember that sometimes the bulkier muscles don’t always mean more strength.

What Are The Best Protein Bars?

Almost everyone has tried a protein bar before, but which ones are the best protein bars for using with your workout plan?

Don't think all of them are exactly the same. There are many types for different situations. In here you will find out about a variety of different bars and what’s in them and which one you should take.

Sometimes it's good to take them and sometimes it is not. These are things you need to know when choosing one. As you continue to read you will understand which ones you should take and why; or maybe you shouldn't take any at all.

What's The Difference?

Not all protein bars are the same. Some of the best protein bars include several different types of protein.

For example whey protein will be digested at a different time than soy protein which can affect your muscle growth if you plan on taking it after a workout.

All the best protein bars also contain different amounts and different types of sugars. This can lead to different tastes and different nutritional levels. The best tasting protein protein bar may not have the nutritional value you are looking for. I'm sure you don't want a protein bar that is actually a candy bar with protein powder. (Some are actually like that!) Okay well...maybe it may sound good now but trust me, after eating it you will feel the same way you feel when eating a candy bar. So do you still want that?

In the end it all comes down to looking at the ingredients and picking the one that is right for you. Don't pick out a bar without looking at the ingredients.

This leads to my next question which is...

What Do I Look For In The Ingredients?

Since you're at this website you want get or stay fit. For this I suggest you get a whey protein bar and avoid soy protein.

...Why?

Because not much is known on whether soy protein helps muscle growth or not, amount of time it takes to digest, etc.

So I suggest just avoiding it. Don't take a gamble when whey protein is proven to work and get to your muscles within 30 minutes to 1 hour.

This is why I will mostly be covering protein bars without soy protein.

What I suggest is that you look out for artificial sweeteners and the amount of sugar in each bar. I don't believe anyone should have artificial sweeteners because of the controversy between them. Why gamble with your body when you only get one body?

Here is a little tip if you want to avoid artificial sweeteners. In the ingredients some of the well known artificial sweeteners are called:

* Sucralose
* Acesulfame Potassium (Mainly listed as Acesulfame K)
* Saccharin

Chances are a bar with more sugar will taste better but try to avoid a lot of sugar. Then again they could replace sugar with artificial sweeteners, so watch out.

So I Now Know What the Best Protein Bars Are. Should I Eat Them?

Honestly, if you're working out you should not eat protein bars. Instead, you should take a protein powder supplement. There are a few reasons behind this.

1. You won't find very many whey protein bars. Most are soy protein.

2. You will usually not get enough protein from one bar.

3. It will take longer to digest

4. It costs much more per bar than 1 protein shake

The only time you would want to take a protein bar is when you cannot make a healthy meal or have access to making a protein shake. If you plan on using protein bars as a snack at night I suggest getting a low carb bar. Keep in mind though low carb bars usually have artificial sweeteners. If you are trying to avoid those then I suggest trying something different in your diet for a night snack.

Overall you need to realize protein bars are not meant to be supplements after or before working out. They are meant to be a quick on the go snack. You should treat them exactly like that.

Your Best Cardio Workout

Looking for your edge in getting the best cardio workout you possibly can? Well you've come to the right place. This section is all about cardio and you will find a lot of useful information that will help all different types of cardio workouts.

What is Cardio?

Cardio is short for cardiovascular. Cardiovascular refers to your circulatory system which carries blood, oxygen, CO2, and nutrients throughout your body. Your cardiac muscle (also known as your heart) is essential in making your cardiovascular system work.

Cardio in the fitness world simply means an exercise that is aerobic and that gets the blood flowing. A cardio exercise requires constant movement of the body and the results of these types of exercises includes building endurance and speeding up the metabolic process.

Why do Cardio

People do cardio for a variety of different reasons. The most obvious reason for many is that they do cardio exercises to lose weight. Did you know that cardio exercises are simply the best possible way to burn calories? The more calories you burn the more weight you lose.

Another excellent reason to do cardio exercise is to strengthen your heart muscle. By performing cardio exercises on a regular basis you can strengthen the heart and this can help prevent a variety of problems such as heart disease and heart attacks. It can also help lower cholesterol too and help prevent blockage in your arteries.

There are other ways you benefit from cardio that you may not even know. One such way is that you will just feel good. Did you know by doing a cardio exercise your brain will release a chemical called dopamine? The released dopamine will make us feel good. This phenomenon is known as a "runner's high" which is why runners feel great after running. So if you feel depressed or are having a bad day you should go for a run.

Did you also know you can get smarter by doing regular cardio exercises? Studies have shown that running a few days a week can promote new neuron connections in the brain and can promote brain cell growth. What this means is not only can you retain more information, but you also become more alert and attentive to your surrounds and focus more. This is great for people with ADD or ADHD and could possibly prevent or slow Alzheimer's disease.

Another less obvious reason is that you will feel more energized throughout the day because you build physical and mental endurance. This along with the combination of all the other mentioned benefits makes you wonder why you wouldn't want to do a healthy cardio exercises each day.

What Now?
Now that you know the benefits of cardio and why you should incorporate it into your life; now it is time to build the best cardio workout that fits you. Do you know how to do that?

Well first you should read the articles below. After that you should try different cardio exercises. Some examples include running, bike riding, and swimming. Figure out which one you like doing the most and incorporate that into your best cardio workout. Next, find out if you are going to use running equipment such as elliptical machines or treadmills. Then do the best cardio workout you came up with and best of all, have fun doing it!

The Best Cardio Exercises

Looking for the best cardio exercises? Truth is, you already know what they are, but I bet you didn’t know how great of a workout they could actually be.

One of the most common cardio exercises is actually the best. I am referring to running. Running is an excellent cardio workout. It stresses your body to its peak and you burn off a tremendous amount of calories doing it. It can possibly be the best cardio exercise you can do. It certainly is the most popular.

Another common cardio exercise is swimming. Swimming is a great cardio exercise. It is a great addition to any cardio workout routines. One of the great features swimming has is that it is easy on the joints and muscles. If you have a pulled muscle or joint problems and want to continue to work out you have no better option than to swim. The water puts our body into almost a zero gravity environment which puts a lot less stress on pulled muscles or damaged joints.

One great cardio exercise that is considered a sport is riding a bike. Bikes are a great exercise tool that can also be used for transportation. You can get a killer workout just riding a mile or two down to your local store to pick up something or to visit a friend. It also saves you gas and with the way gas prices go up it’s always a good thing to know. This is my personal favorite cardio exercise to do.

Then there are elliptical machines. These are a great addition to any cardio workout routines. They are a great alternative to running and you can do it at the comfort of your own home. They are good for people who are prone to joint problems. They are a smooth workout experience which means less pressure on joints than running.

The last cardio exercise I want to talk about is stair climbing. Yes, stair climbing is another great cardio exercise. Stair climbing is very hard to do and burns an insane amount of calories. You ever climb a 20 story building using the stairs? Most people will get very tired before reaching the 10th story. If you want to do this at home companies sell stair stepping machines that will imitate an endless set of stairs for you to climb.

When it comes down to the best cardio exercise you can’t go wrong with any of the exercises I mentioned. In fact, if you get bored and lose motivation it’s often good to try another exercise. Don’t be afraid to mix and match, just try to find a comparable workout level between each exercise and you’ll be okay.

Cardio Weight Loss Program

Having a cardio weight loss program is almost essential if you are serious about losing weight. Losing weight is hard without some form of exercise and cardio is the best exercise to burn calories. Burning calories means losing weight.

Your cardio weight loss plan should be done at least 4 times a week. It is also best to do at least a minimum of 30 minutes a day. Adjusting the intensity of your workout is based on your level of fitness. Make sure you do enough cardio exercise to ensure you are getting a good enough workout.

Cardio is very important in everyday life, not just weight loss. The benefits of cardio aren’t all physical either. This goes for exercising in general as well.

You already know that cardio burns calories but do you know how? It speeds up our metabolism which results in burning more calories because calories are energy. We need energy for anything we do and the more energy we use up the more weight we lose. This is because calories are stored in the body as fat molecules.

That is reason enough to add cardio into your fitness routine. Not to mention you also are less fatigued, stay more alert and focused, and prevents almost all of the most common health problems such as heart disease.

In the end, just eating healthy doesn’t cut it. Yes, it is better if you eat healthy rather than eat junk food. Yes, you will lose weight if you just eat healthier. However, you will dramatically increase the amount of weight you lose by including a cardio workout and you will help diminish chances of problems occurring later on in life.

It’s no wonder why many doctors and organizations related to health recommend adults and teenagers of all ages add in some sort of cardio activity in our daily routines. Our body needs exercise just like it needs food. If we don’t exercise problems will arise that can easily be preventable. Of the top 5 killers in the world overall, they can be completely erased from the top 5 if the world ate healthy and exercised regularly. That is all it takes to ensure you won’t suffer many of today’s most common health problems.

Too Much Cardio – What Happens?

Are you worried about overdoing it and doing too much cardio exercise? Do you think you push yourself too much?

Well one good thing about wondering the answers to these questions is that you seem like a glass half full person or are getting a great workout. While obviously you can do more cardio than you should in one sitting, it can be quite hard to go that far for most.

If you are a healthy fit individual you aren’t going to overexert yourself enough to worry about that unless you are dehydrated or run nonstop full speed until you collapse or something to that extreme.

However, if you are just starting to work out or have pre-existing conditions such as asthma or a heart condition you may want to take it easy. Cardio exercises are great for your body but if you have asthma for example, too much of it can lead to having a hard time breathing. This can especially be true if you don’t work out much. Don’t let that scare you away from working out though. You still can get a great workout you just need to be more observant of your limits. Don’t over exert yourself and you’ll be fine.

If you have a heart condition or other medical condition you should definitely take it easy as well. Because your cardiac muscle is being stressed when doing cardio exercises you should especially be aware of your limits and stop immediately if something is wrong. Good news is some conditions actually may improve if you do cardio exercise.

If you plan on starting a cardio workout or any other intensive workout with a pre-existing condition I highly recommend talking to your doctor before you start it and let him know what you are doing. He will be able to let you know if it is a suitable workout you can handle without causing severe problems.

Treadmill Or Elliptical - Which Is a Better Buy?

When it comes down to a treadmill vs elliptical which would be a better buy? The answer can be either depending on what features you prefer.

These 2 machines are competing for your cardio at home workout. As you read on it will become more clear as to which one you will want to use.

But before we move on you need to ask yourself a few questions. Questions such as, "What are my goals?" "What do I want to get out of a cardio machine?" "Do I have any joint problems or may have the potential of getting them in the near future?" "Will this replace all of my cardio exercises or will it be an addition to them?"

These are some simple questions only you can answer and will help you decide the winning machine in the treadmill vs elliptical battle.

Treadmill Vs Elliptical

Treadmills are simply the most popular fitness machines on the market today when it comes to cardio. I am sure you have seen a treadmill before whether it is at the gym or in someone's home. Treadmills are simple and easy to use, you just plug it in, hit go, and set the speed then run.

Treadmills are excellent if you live in an area that isn't suitable for running outside. There are many reasons for this such as bad weather, no sidewalks, or maybe you may not live in the safest neighborhood.

Regarding the neighborhood reason; I actually had heard reports of people at my previous street I lived on beating up joggers. Sadly this stuff happens...

Treadmills have a lot of good features that many people find worthwhile. There is a reason they are so popular and to name just a few features they provide that make the purchase worthwhile:

* A perfect path to walk on rain or shine
* Can control the incline
* Have a built in pedometer to measure distance, time, steps, calories burned, etc.
* Allow you to run in the comfort of your home
* Can watch TV or surf the internet while on the treadmill. This makes you not stare at the clock dreading each minute.

Those are just some of the many reasons why people purchase a treadmill. I personally own a treadmill and find a lot of the features make the purchase worthwhile.

Truth is, I hate running. I actually found a way to make me look forward to running. I play the Nintendo Wii while running on the treadmill. To me, this makes 30 or more minutes on the treadmill feel like 5 minutes of fun playing a good video game.

What does this have to do with you? Well if you are like me and hate running, you have more options to occupy yourself while running to take your attention off running. You can't watch your favorite TV show, surf the internet, or even play your favorite video game jogging outside. This is one of the benefits of owning a treadmill that make it worthwhile.

Elliptical Vs Treadmill

While ellipticals may not more popular than treadmills, they are getting more popular each year. This is simply because of a few extra positives that treadmills don't possess.

Ellipticals are everywhere treadmills are and you can't go to a gym anywhere nowadays and not find a few elliptical machines around somewhere. They are usually next to or around the treadmills. Many people prefer these over treadmills for a few reasons:

* Easier on the joints than treadmills
* Start off slightly cheaper than treadmills
* Offer more fluid movement than running
* Offers a more flexible aerobic workout

These are just some of the benefits that ellipticals have over treadmills. However, they do have a few downfalls over treadmills. For one, they do not give added resistance such as incline unless you choose high end models. However, they seem to be adding this feature to less expensive models nowadays.

Another downfall is you get better practice running on a treadmill rather than using an elliptical machine. People running in marathons or like to jog may find this an annoyance.

Treadmill Vs Elliptical... Which One Wins?

Treadmills are still the most popular cardio machines on the market, but you can't ignore the fact that ellipticals seem to have more features and uses than treadmills. This is why they are a growing trend. Because of the features ellipticals have they will remain in the treadmill vs elliptical battle for a long time.

I think the choice is obvious depending on certain factors that you may consider. For middle aged and elderly I would look into an elliptical machine. The main purpose is because an elliptical machine gives you the cardio workout you want without the strain on your joints. This may prevent joint problems in the future or if you already have joint problems it will prevent them from worsening.

If you are a bit younger up to maybe say... around 45-50 the most and love to jog you may consider a treadmill over an elliptical. This is because you can jog and get that overall feel for running that a treadmill provides. This will help you prepare for marathons you may participate in.

If you are just looking to get a good all around cardio workout and don't care about running vs striding then you should look into an elliptical machine. This applies to all ages. The fact that an elliptical has the potential to burn more calories overall with the handlebar feature, incline, and resistance. Cardiac Muscle – Why Is It So Unique?

An average human heart contracts around 70 times a minute and pumps 5 liters a blood a minute. Your cardiac muscle (also known as your heart muscle) is responsible for this. This muscle that is so important to us must not rest and sustain that amount of contractions for us to live.

How can it do this? Well, it is made up differently from other muscle. It has high amounts of mitochondria, myoglobins, and a good blood supply. Now I could get into how it all works but what it basically comes down to is that all these factors allow it to be highly resistant to fatigue.

It may be highly resistant to fatigue but that doesn’t mean it is perfect. If you don’t exercise regularly and don’t practice healthy eating habits your heart muscle will weaken and may have a hard time pumping blood through your arteries. This is why many people suffer from heart problems when they get older.

Today in the US heart disease is the number one killer overall. It even surpasses cancer. Heart disease can almost always be prevented by a proper diet and exercise. Did you know you can also prevent cancer and stroke in most cases by proper diet and exercise too?

Cardio exercise is the best way to strengthen the heart muscle and combined with a proper diet will ensure you have less complications as you age. You only have one heart so treat it well and exercise regularly and maintain a healthy diet.

The Best Whey Protein Supplement For You

When I first started working out I always wanted to know, "What is the best whey protein supplement?" Truth is, you can't pick one supplement and call it the best.

Many whey protein supplements have geared towards being the best for certain situations. The best protein supplement for you may not be the same as for someone else. My choice of a whey protein supplement may not be the best choice for you.

I hope you understand this before taking advice from people. The only way to know for sure which whey protein supplement works best for you is to experiment and try different kinds.

I try to make that task easier for you in this section by providing information on many of the most popular supplements and also give the chance for you to submit whey protein reviews to give people valuable information in helping them decide their best whey protein supplement.

Why Whey Protein?

Why? Because it simply is the quickest type of protein to be delivered to your muscles to promote growth and repair. We'll talk about that in more depth in the articles below.

Whey protein powder is also hands down the most popular supplement. If you ask any body builder at a gym what muscle building supplement he takes, chances are they will tell you they take a whey protein supplement.

The body builder probably takes other supplements as well, but for anyone serious about gaining muscle mass, I recommend at least a whey protein supplement.

Tips for Finding Your Best Whey Protein Supplement

While picking a brand that is right for you consider looking at the ingredients. You may find yourself reading the label not understanding what any of that means.Well I will explain what the first two ingredients are usually in detail. The two ingredients are Whey Protein Isolate and Whey Protein Concentrate. They are essentially the same type of protein but there are differences in the quality of protein.

If you want the absolute best quality whey protein supplement find a brand that uses Whey Protein Isolate. It is whey protein in its purest form.

It’s obviously not a necessity and those types of protein are usually the most expensive. Companies usually mix Whey Protein Concentrate to reduce the cost of making it, thus passing the savings onto the consumer. These types of whey protein are usually the cheapest.

It’s not going to make a major difference using the more expensive brand. If you cannot afford the best whey protein I would search for a mid priced protein and try to find a protein powder with Whey Protein Isolate before Whey Protein Concentrate because it will contain more Isolate than Concentrate.

What I like to do when trying a new brand of protein powder is to taste each type. Whatever tastes the worst means it is usually the best.

You might be asking, "Why?"

It’s simple... because companies aiming to make their protein taste better will usually put more sugar in and less protein and vitamins, which makes it less effective.

Cardio Vs Weight Training – Are They Comparable?

Cardio vs weight training… which one should you choose? Well, what if I said you should do both?

You see, cardio and weight training cannot be compared. They each do different things. While they may share some similarities they are two totally different aspects of working out. It’s like comparing apples and oranges.

Cardio is great for strengthening the heart and the best way to lose weight. Doing cardio exercises daily has been proven to promote brain development even in older people. This basically means you can focus more and retain more information which may link it to preventing or slowing in diseases such as Alzheimer’s.

Weight training is different. Weight training strengthens your muscles throughout your body depending on the exercise you do. It can also be used to tone muscles. Weight Training will build your muscle endurance up as well.

The similarities both cardio and weight training share are that they both speed up your metabolism, they both can help tone your body, and they both can help you burn fat.

I like to think of cardio as a specialized workout, which specializes in burning fat and excels in that. I think of weight training as a combination of both toning and muscle building.

If you look at it from the same perspective from me you can clearly see how they really can’t be compared. What this means is that when you combine both you are giving your body one heck of a workout.

If you just simply want to lose weight and aren’t looking to build a lot or any muscle mass then I suggest a cardio workout combined with some free weight toning exercises.

If you want to build muscle mass I suggest some strength training exercises, but do a little cardio before and/or after your workout to get the blood flowing to your muscles.

Don’t be fooled by trying to do the cardio vs weight training comparison. Instead you should focus on how to include both workout types into your fitness plan; because in the end, if you really want to push yourself and see results the quickest it is best to combine these two workout types into your fitness plan in some way.
